Group games
Setting up
These game modes require a device with access to Bible Quid and an internet connection.
A tablet with the web version is ideal: it makes it easy to hide the questions from opponents, to share them with your team-mates, and you get the right-answer counter.
2 players
Each player must first have created a profile. You can then be asked questions matching your level, which is updated after every question. When it is the opponent's turn, remember to switch profile.
3 or more players (teams)
To play in teams, switch to anonymous mode (click the log-out button if present). Pick a team captain who speaks for the team and makes the final call in case of disagreement.
Who starts?
First decide which team starts, by drawing lots or by another criterion such as age.
1. Match by rounds
Duration: 5 to 20 minutes
How it works:
Players first agree on the number of rounds needed to win (usually between 2 and 5).
In this mode, the first team must answer as many questions as possible without a mistake. As soon as a wrong answer is given, note the number of consecutive right answers. Play then passes to the other team, which takes up the same challenge.
The team with the most points wins the round.
In case of a tie, the round is won by every team that reached the maximum number of right answers.
End of the game:
The winner is the first to reach the number of winning rounds agreed at the start.
2. Ping-pong match
Duration: 5 to 20 minutes
How it works:
Players first agree on the number of rounds needed to win (usually between 2 and 5).
The teams take turns answering one question each. As soon as a team gives a wrong answer, it loses the round. The team that wins the round is the one that gave no wrong answer.
End of the game:
The winner is the first to reach the number of winning rounds agreed at the start.
3. Blind match
Duration: 5 to 20 minutes
How it works:
The answering team must not see the answers proposed by Bible Quid, so the person reading the question must not read them out.
The rest works like the match by rounds or the ping-pong match, as you prefer.
Note:
some questions will not suit this mode. For example:
"Which character is not mentioned in the epistle to the Romans?"
In that particular case, the reader reads out the 4 proposed answers.
End of the game:
The winner is the first to reach the number of winning rounds agreed at the start.
